Le Projet

 The project is a 1.42 ha afforestation in the east of the Loire-Atlantique region (Pays-de-la-Loire, in the heart of the Armorican Bocage sylvo-ecoregion, with the aime of replanting a meadow with a variety of tree species, sowing oak acorns and carrying out work to encourage the natural regeneration of oak on the plot.

• A total of 2062 trees will be planted on the plot: 500 trees planted with 8 species (Hornbeam, Pedunculate Oak, Wild Service-tree, Black poplar, Hard pear, Ash, Wild cherry), with the aime of recreating a diversified forest adapted to the site conttext (soil and climate). In addition to this planting, oak acorns have been sown and work has been carried out to conserve the natural oak regeneration present and identified (1562 seedlings and natural recrusts).

Loire-Atlantique Department

The project is adjacent to the village and a communal recreational area for local residents, including a footpath and pond. The woodland offers an improved living environment, providing shade and coolness, while promoting biodiversity with the introduction of local species and preserving the natural recruit.

The project is a participative ont, involving local residents: planting and sowing were carried out with local volunteers and students from a nearby college. The seedlings were also planted by local pensioners and classes from a school in La Chapelle-Glain. The meadow was mulched with mown grass and hay harvested by local farmers.
